Therapy: Individual Therapy
Individual psychotherapy provides a consistent, safe one-on-one space in which to explore your most personal experiences and work toward your unique goals. In individual sessions with your therapist, you may discover patterns that are keeping you from moving forward, experiencing happiness or fulfillment, or even finding a sense of purpose.
Individual therapy for children and adolescents allows your child to develop a personal relationship with a trusted therapist to address issues that ... Identifying and working through your most painful experiences in individual treatment opens avenues for change and can create a lasting impact on your sense of self, daily life, and important relationships. For children, addressing anxiety, mood, or behavioral issues early empowers them to develop coping skills to use throughout their lives. How we approach individual therapyPsychologists at J&L Psychology conduct individually tailored evidence-based therapy with individuals of all ages from diverse ethnic, racial, gender, and developmental backgrounds.
Through initial one-on-one sessions, we aim to develop trust and create an open, nonjudgmental space where you can share your life story. During the intake and treatment planning sessions, we partner with you to determine which type of therapeutic intervention(s) (e.g. Emotionally Focused, CBT, or psychodynamic therapy) fits your specific goals and needs. After collaborating to discuss your treatment goals, we will craft an individually tailored treatment plan that aligns with your unique perspective, background, and needs. OUR PROCESS??: Once you and your therapist have determined the best approach for treatment, you will begin working toward changing yourself and your life through individual appointments with your therapist. The frequency of sessions and length of treatment is determined based on your unique presentation. In individual therapy, we aim to help you expand the areas of your life and parts of yourself that are working for you while changing the things that keep you stuck, alone, or unhappy. In working with one of our trusted, safe therapist on an individual basis, you will have the chance to explore how your unique life history relates to your current concerns and learn new ways of overcoming obstacles and challenges. If you feel broken, fragmented, or damaged, individual therapy can help you put the pieces back together and create an even stronger, more resilient version of your true self.
