About:
The Practice
Gold Standard TreatmentJennifer Newman, PhD ("J"), and Laura Price, PhD ("L"), created J&L Psychology to bring a passion for healing directly to patients who are seeking personalized, gold-standard mental health treatments. Our team infuses the therapy space with a deep understanding of human behavior built over years of clinical practice and research.
Our goal at J&L Psychology is to foster and nurture strength, resilience, and hope in our patients. We create a warm, collaborative environment in which to evaluate your treatment needs. From there, we build a treatment plan based in scientific knowledge of psychological principles that also is tailored to your unique life circumstances and personal history. We work with you to develop more effective, flexible approaches to managing life's challenges so you can achieve your personal goals. A philosophy of wholenessAt J&L Psychology we take seriously the art of Kintsugi: When it seems all in your world has shattered beyond repair, we help you locate and cherish those pieces, fitting them together to create a stronger, more resilient you. Lining the cracks with a bonding material fashioned of curiosity, trust, and resolve, we believe each person not only can rebuild what's broken, but in the process generate something new and beautiful from what emerges. You transform and evolve BECAUSE of your imperfections, not in spite of them.
A commitment to inclusivityAt J&L Psychology, we start from a place of respect and dignity for all our patients. We believe in taking an active anti-racist stance by addressing the devastating impact of macro- and microaggressions against marginalized individuals and groups in our society. As a practice, we welcome challenges to our inherent biases within the therapeutic space and outside of it as a necessary part of professional and personal growth. A commitment to inclusivity requires more than words on our website. It demands our accountability.
