About: Our Process
Learn a bit more about our process for new patients:
When you first contact us our Patient Care Coordinator, Lawrence Morgan, will reach out to you to set up a free 15-minute phone consultation to learn a bit about your history and what brings you to therapy. He then shares this information with our clinical team.

We collaborate to find the best treatment options for you based on your goals. Unlike other practices, our clinical team reviews every potential patient to determine who might be the best clinician to meet your needs. We want to make sure that J&L Psychology is the right fit for you, and will provide you with alternative outside referrals if we are not the appropriate practice.
|
We will help you set up an initial appointment with your assigned clinician. We begin with a 60-minute intake evaluation to gather information about your background, your current situation, and treatment needs.
|
At the end of your first appointment, if you and your therapist mutually determine it is beneficial to move forward, you will then discuss scheduling weekly psychotherapy sessions.

Take the first step
There are three ways to reach out:
Once you start therapy, here is what to expect:Our clinicians generally spend several sessions getting to know you, learning about your history, and understanding your current challenges.
Using our clinical expertise, training, and knowledge of human experience, J&L therapists draw upon a number of effective types of therapy to customize a tailored treatment plan. We take into consideration the whole picture to ensure your treatment plan aligns with your goals. You may choose to address your concerns through a short term approach or spend a longer time developing insights into your personal difficulties and desires. Therapy at J&L is collaborative. You and your therapist will have ongoing conversations about how treatment is working for you. Adjustments are made accordingly to make sure the plan is meeting your needs and goals. Vertical Divider

Can I choose my clinician? We welcome your requests and input in determining which J&L clinician you would like to see. During the free 15-minute phone consultation, we will ask about your availability and your preferences. This includes any identity or background-specific matters that might impact your sense of safety or comfort.
We will do our best to accommodate your requests, though decisions also are made with clinician availability, specialty, and goodness of fit in mind. We might recommend another provider in these cases. |
